✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ ordered more than twenty men from the leading men of Quraysh to be thrown into one of the wells of Badr, a foul and vile well. He said: When he gained victory over a people, he would stay at the battlefield for three nights. He said: When he gained victory over the people of Badr, he stayed for three nights. On the third day, he ordered his riding camel to be saddled, then he walked and his companions followed him. They said: We think he is only going to relieve himself. He said: Until he stood at the edge of the well. He said: He began calling them by their names and their fathers' names: "O so-and-so son of so-and-so, does it please you that you obeyed Allah and His Messenger? Have you found what your Lord promised you to be true?" Umar said, "O Prophet of Allah, what are you speaking to bodies with no souls in them?" He said, "By the One in whose hand is Muhammad's soul, you are not more able to hear what I say than they are." Qatadah said: Allah (mighty and glorious is He) brought them to life for him so that they heard his words as a rebuke, belittlement, and humiliation.
