✧ Abu Talhah was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah. The dearest of his properties to him was Bayruha', which faced the mosque. The Prophet ﷺ used to enter it and drink from its sweet water. Anas said: When the verse 'You will not attain piety until you spend from what you love' was revealed, Abu Talhah said: 'O Messenger of God, God says: You will not attain piety until you spend from what you love. The dearest of my properties to me is Bayruha', and it is charity for God, Mighty and Majestic. I hope for its reward and its store with God. Place it, O Messenger of God, wherever God shows you.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Excellent! That is a profitable property, that is a profitable property. I have heard, and I suggest that you give it to your relatives.' Abu Talhah said: 'I will do so, O Messenger of God.' He said: 'So Abu Talhah divided it among his relatives and his paternal cousins.'
