✧ I said to Anas: "Tell us, O Abu Hamzah, something of these wonders that you witnessed, not narrating it from someone other than you." He said: "The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed Zuhr one day, then went off until he sat on the seat where Gabriel used to come to him. Bilal came and called him to Asr. Everyone who had family in Madinah got up to relieve himself and get water for ablution, while some men of the Muhajirun remained who had no families in Madinah. A wide cup with water was brought to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he placed his palm in the vessel, but the vessel could not contain the whole palm of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said, with these four in the vessel: 'Come near and perform ablution,' while his hand was in the vessel. So they performed ablution until not one of them remained without having performed ablution." He said: I said: "O Abu Hamzah, how many do you think they were?" He said: "Between seventy and eighty."
