قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَالِكٌ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَحَانَتْ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ، فَالْتَمَسَ النَّاسُ الْوَضُوءَ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا، فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِوَضُوئِهِ، فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ذَلِكَ الْإِنَاءِ يَدَهُ، وَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّؤُوا مِنْهُ، فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَصَابِعِهِ، فَتَوَضَّأَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى تَوَضَّؤُوا مِنْ عِنْدِ آخِرِهِمْ

Translation

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the time for the afternoon prayer had come. The people sought water for wudu but did not find any. The water for his wudu was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he placed his hand in that vessel and ordered the people to perform wudu from it. I saw the water gushing from beneath his fingers, and the people performed wudu until the last of them had done so.
