حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ شَكَوْنَا إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ فَقَالَ
شَكَوْنَا إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ، فَقَالَ: اصْبِرُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ عَامٌ أَوْ يَوْمٌ، إِلَّا الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُمْ [عَزَّ وَجَلَّ]، سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ

✧ We complained to Anas b. Malik about what we were encountering from al-Hajjaj. He said: Be patient, for no year or day will come upon you except that what follows it will be worse than it, until you meet your Lord [Mighty and Majestic]. I heard it from your Prophet ﷺ.
