Chain of narrators
  1. Sufyān
  2. al-Zuhrī Samiʿah Min Anas

✧ The Prophet ﷺ fell from a horse and injured his right side. We went in to visit him. The time for prayer came, so he prayed sitting and we prayed sitting. When he finished the prayer he said, “The imam is only there to be followed. When he says the takbir, say the takbir. When he bows, bow.” Sufyan once said, “When he prostrates, prostrate. When he says, ‘God hears the one who praises Him,’ say, ‘Our Lord, and to You belongs praise.’ If he prays sitting, then all of you pray sitting.”
