Chain of narrators
- Ibn Abū ʿAdī
✧ Anas was asked: Did the Prophet ﷺ raise his hands? He said: It was said to him on a Friday: O Messenger of God, the rain has withheld and the land has become barren and wealth has perished. He said: He raised his hands until I saw the whiteness of his armpits and prayed for rain. And he raised his hands while we saw no cloud in the sky, and we had not finished the prayer before the young man who lived nearby was concerned about returning to his family. He said: When the next Friday came, they said: O Messenger of God, the houses have collapsed and the riders are held back. The Messenger of God ﷺ smiled at how quickly the son of Adam becomes discontent, and said: O God, around us and not upon us. Then it cleared away from Madinah.
