حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ
غَلَا السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا لَهُ: لَوْ قَوَّمْتَ لَنَا سِعْرَنَا، قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ هُوَ الْمُقَوِّمُ أَوِ الْمُسَعِّرُ، إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أُفَارِقَكُمْ، وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي مَالٍ وَلَا نَفْسٍ
Translation

✧ Prices rose during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and they said to him: If only you would set prices for us. He said: Indeed God is the One who sets prices, or the restrainer. I hope to part from you while none of you seeks me for an injustice in wealth or person.
