Musnad Ahmad 11720

Translation

✧ I said: O Messenger of God, which servants have the highest degree with God on the Day of Resurrection? He said: Those who remember God much. He said: I said: O Messenger of God, and what about the one who fights in the path of God? He said: If he were to strike with his sword among the disbelievers and polytheists until it broke and became dyed with blood, those who remember God would still be higher in degree than him.
