حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَجَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
أَوَّلُ مَنْ أَخْرَجَ الْمِنْبَرَ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ مَرْوَانُ وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ بَدَأَ بِالْخُطْبَةِ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا مَرْوَانُ خَالَفْتَ السُّنَّةَ أَخْرَجْتَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَلَمْ يَكُ يُخْرَجُ، وَبَدَأْتَ بِالْخُطْبَةِ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ، قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: مَنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا: فُلَانُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ، قَالَ: أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ قَضَى مَا عَلَيْهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنْ رَأَى مُنْكَرًا فَإِنِ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يُغَيِّرَهُ بِيَدِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ، وَذَلِكَ أَضْعَفُ الْإِيمَانِ
Translation

✧ The first to bring out the pulpit on the day of Eid was Marwan, and the first to begin with the sermon before the prayer. A man stood up and said: O Marwan, you have opposed the sunnah: you brought out the pulpit though it was not brought out, and you began with the sermon before the prayer. Abu Sa'id said: Who is this? They said: So-and-so son of so-and-so. He said: As for this one, he has fulfilled his duty. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever sees an evil, if he can change it with his hand, let him do so; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.
