حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ وَيَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ كُنَّا نُرْزَقُ تَمْرَ الْجَمْعِ قَالَ

كُنَّا نُرْزَقُ تَمْرَ الْجَمْعِ وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ: تَمْرًا مِنْ تَمْرِ الْجَمْعِ، عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَبِيعُ الصَّاعَيْنِ بِالصَّاعِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: لَا صَاعَيْ تَمْرٍ بِصَاعٍ، وَلَا صَاعَيْ حِنْطَةٍ بِصَاعٍ، وَلَا دِرْهَمَيْنِ بِدِرْهَمٍ

✧ We used to receive provisions of mixed dates—Yazid said: dates from the crop of mixed dates—in the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and we would sell two sāʿs for one sāʿ. That reached the Prophet ﷺ and he said: “No two sāʿs of dates for one sāʿ, no two sāʿs of wheat for one sāʿ, and no two dirhams for one dirham.”
