حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَمْرٍوعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ

إِنَّ إِبْلِيسَ قَالَ لِرَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَعِزَّتِكَ وَجَلَالِكَ، لَا أَبْرَحُ أُغْوِي بَنِي آدَمَ مَا دَامَتِ الْأَرْوَاحُ فِيهِمْ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: فَبِعِزَّتِي وَجَلَالِي، لَا أَبْرَحُ أَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَغْفَرُونِي

Translation

✧ Iblis said to his Lord, Mighty and Majestic: 'By Your might and Your majesty, I will not cease to lead the children of Adam astray as long as their souls remain within them.' His Lord, Mighty and Majestic, said to him: 'Then by My might and My majesty, I will not cease to forgive them as long as they seek My forgiveness.'
