حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي زُهْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُثَنَّى الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ

كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، فَدَخَلَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ: أَسَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنِ النَّفْخِ فِي الشُّرْبِ ؟ فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: فَإِنِّي لَا أُرْوَى بِنَفَسٍ وَاحِدٍ. قَالَ: أَبِنْهُ عَنْ فِيكَ، ثُمَّ تَنَفَّسْ. قَالَ: فَإِنْ رَأَيْتُ قَذًى، قَالَ: فَأَهْرِقْهُ

Translation

✧ I was sitting with Marwan b. al-Hakam when Abu Sa'id al-Khudri entered. Marwan said to him: 'Did you hear the Prophet ﷺ forbid blowing into a drink?' He replied: 'Yes.' A man said to him: 'But I am not satisfied with one breath.' He said: 'Move it away from your mouth, then breathe.' He said: 'What if I see something objectionable?' He said: 'Then pour it out.'
