✧ We used to take turns serving the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, staying overnight with him. If he had a need or something occurred at night, he would send us. There were many who would stay and take turns. We used to converse, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us at night and said: What is this secret talk? Did I not forbid you from secret talk? We said: We repent to Allah, O Prophet of Allah; we were only mentioning the Messiah out of fear of him. He said: Shall I not tell you what is more fearful for you than the Messiah in my estimation? We said: Yes. He said: Hidden polytheism, that a man stands and works for the sake of another man.
