✧ When this surah was revealed: "When the help of God and victory comes, and you see the people..." He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ recited it until he completed it, and said: "The people are one group, and I and my companions are one group." And he said: "There is no emigration after the conquest, but there is jihad and intention." Marwan said to him: "You have lied." With him were Rafi' b. Khadij and Zayd b. Thabit, both seated with him on the couch. Abu Sa'id said: "If these two wished, they would have told you, but this one fears that you would remove him from the leadership of his people, and this one fears that you would remove him from the charity." They remained silent. Marwan raised the whip over him to strike him, and when they saw that, they said: "He has spoken the truth."
