حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ هَلْ

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ: هَلْ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْإِزَارِ شَيْئًا ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، بِعِلْمٍ. سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: إِزْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ، لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، وَأَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ هُوَ فِي النَّارِ. يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

Translation

✧ I asked Abu Sa'id: Did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the waist wrapper? He said: Yes, with knowledge. I heard him say: The believer's waist wrapper is to the middle of his shins. There is no blame upon him for what is between that and the ankles. Whatever is below the ankles is in the Fire. He said it three times.
