حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرٌ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ كَثِيرٌ مَرَّةً حَدِيثٌ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ

النَّاسُ مَعَادِنُ كَمَعَادِنِ الْفِضَّةِ وَالذَّهَبِ، خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا، وَالْأَرْوَاحُ جُنُودٌ مُجَنَّدَةٌ مَا تَعَارَفَ مِنْهَا ائْتَلَفَ، وَمَا تَنَاكَرَ مِنْهَا اخْتَلَفَ.

✧ People are mines like mines of silver and gold. The best of them in the Jāhiliyyah are the best of them in Islam if they gain understanding. Souls are troops mustered together: those that knew one another are in harmony, and those that did not know one another differ.
