حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُذْكَرُ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا رَأَى كَلْبًا يَأْكُلُ الثَّرَى مِنَ الْعَطَشِ فَأَخَذَ الرَّجُلُ خُفَّهُ، فَجَعَلَ يَغْرِفُ لَهُ بِهِ الْمَاءَ حَتَّى أَرْوَاهُ، فَشَكَرَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ فَأَدْخَلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ.

✧ A man saw a dog eating moist earth from thirst, so the man took his leather sock and began scooping water with it for the dog until he quenched its thirst. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, thanked him and admitted him to Paradise.
