✧ The wind overtook the people on the road to Makkah and became severe upon them. Umar said to those around him, 'What is the wind?' They did not give him any answer. News of what he asked reached me, so I urged my mount until I caught up with him and said, 'O Commander of the Believers, I have been informed that you asked about the wind. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: The wind is from the spirit of God [Mighty and Majestic]; it brings mercy and it brings punishment. So do not curse it, but ask God for its good and seek refuge in Him from its evil.'
