✧ He delivered a sermon to us, and one time said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon and said: "O people, Allah, Mighty and Sublime, has made the Hajj obligatory upon you, so perform the Hajj." A man said: "Every year, O Messenger of Allah?" He remained silent until the man repeated it three times. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If I said yes, it would become obligatory, and you would not be able to do it." Then he said: "Leave me with what I have left you, for those before you were destroyed only by their excessive questioning and their disagreement with their prophets. So when I command you to do something, do as much of it as you can, and when I forbid you from something, abstain from it."
