حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ
اخْتَصَمَتِ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ: أَيْ رَبِّ مَا لَهَا يَدْخُلُهَا ضُعَفَاءُ النَّاسِ وَسَقَطُهُمْ، وَقَالَتِ النَّارُ: يَا رَبِّ مَا لَهَا يَدْخُلُهَا الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ، قَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ، وَقَالَ لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ مِنْكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ، وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُنَّ مِلْؤُهَا، قَالَ: فَأَمَّا الْجَنَّةُ فَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَظْلِمُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ أَحَدًا، وَإِنَّهَا يُنْشِئُ لَهَا مِنْ خَلْقِهِ مَا شَاءَ، وَأَمَّا النَّارُ فَيُلْقَوْنَ فِيهَا وَتَقُولُ: هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ وَيُلْقَوْنَ فِيهَا وَتَقُولُ: هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ حَتَّى يَضَعَ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِيهَا قَدَمَهُ فَهُنَالِكَ تَمْتَلِئُ وَيَنْزَوِي بَعْضُهَا إِلَى بَعْضٍ وَتَقُولُ: قَطْ قَطْ.

✧ Paradise and Hell disputed. Paradise said: 'O Lord, what is wrong with me that only the weak and lowly of people enter me?' And Hell said: 'O Lord, what is wrong with me that only the tyrants and the arrogant enter me?' He said to Paradise: 'You are My mercy; through you I bestow mercy upon whom I will.' And He said to Hell: 'You are My punishment; through you I punish whom I will. And each of you will have its fill.' He said: 'As for Paradise, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, does not wrong anyone of His creation, and He will create for it of His creation what He wills. As for Hell, they will be thrown into it, and it will say: "Is there any more?" and they will be thrown into it, and it will say: "Is there any more?" until our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, places His foot in it, and then it will be filled and some of it will shrink upon the rest and it will say: "Enough! Enough!"'
