machine translationAyyūb, Hishām, Ibn ʿAwn, Qatādah, ʿAbdullāh b. Bakr al-Muzanī, ʿAwf, Yūnus b. ʿUbayd and ʿImrān b. Khālid narrate it from Ibn Sīrīn, from Abū Hurayrah, raising it to the Prophet (marfūʿ). Ḥammād b. Zayd narrates it from Ayyūb and Hishām, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Abū Hurayrah. ʿImrān b. Khālid, ʿAwf al-Aʿrābī and Yūnus b. ʿUbayd corroborated him, in the narration of Ḥātim b. Wardān from him. Ibn ʿUlayyah and al-Thaqafī made it a statement of the Companion (mawqūf) from Ayyūb. Ibn ʿUlayyah also narrated it from Ibn ʿAwn and Hishām as mawqūf, and likewise Yazīd b. Hārūn narrated it from Ibn ʿAwn. ʿAbdullāh b. Bakr al-Muzanī said, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Abū Hurayrah: "It used to be said." Raising it is sound (ṣaḥīḥ), because Ibn Sīrīn was very scrupulous about raising a ḥadīth to the Prophet. Saʿīd said, from Qatādah, from Ibn Sīrīn, from Abū Hurayrah: the Messenger of God ﷺ said.
