حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ، الْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ، إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ يَتْرُكُ الطَّعَامَ لِشَهْوَتِهِ مِنْ أَجْلِي وَيَتْرُكُ الشَّرَابَ لِشَهْوَتِهِ مِنْ أَجْلِي هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ.

✧ Every deed of the son of Adam is for him: a good deed is multiplied ten times its like up to seven hundred times, except fasting. It is for Me, and I shall reward it. He leaves his food for his desire because of Me, and he leaves his drink for his desire because of Me. It is for Me, and I shall reward it.
