حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، وَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُقْضَى دَفْنُهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ. 10615 - قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ: فَذَكَرْتُ [ذَلِكَ] لِابْنِ عُمَرَ فَتَعَاظَمَهُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ صَدَقَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ. فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: لَقَدْ فَرَّطْنَا فِي قَرَارِيطَ كَثِيرَةٍ

✧ Whoever prays over a funeral has a qirat, and whoever follows it until its burial is completed has two qirats, one of which, or the smaller of them, is like Mount Uhud. 10615 - Abu Salamah said: I mentioned that to Ibn ʿUmar, and he considered it excessive, so he sent to ʿA’ishah, and she said: ‘Abu Hurayrah spoke the truth.’ Ibn ʿUmar said: ‘We have neglected many qirats.’
