حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ
مَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةً، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ، وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا لَمْ تُكْتَبْ عَلَيْهِ، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ عَلَيْهِ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً.

✧ On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said: "Whoever intends to do a good deed but does not do it, a good deed is recorded for him. And if he does it, then ten good deeds are recorded for him. And whoever intends to do an evil deed but does not do it, no evil deed is recorded for him. And if he does it, then only one evil deed is recorded for him."
