✧ I was sitting with Abu Hurayrah, and a man from Banu 'Amir b. Sa'sa'ah passed by. It was said to him: 'This is the wealthiest 'Amiri in calling for wealth.' Abu Hurayrah said: 'Bring him back to me.' So they brought him back. He said: 'I have been informed that you have a lot of wealth.' The 'Amiri said: 'Yes, by Allah, I have one hundred red camels and one hundred dark ones,' until he enumerated the colors of camels, varieties of slaves, and tethered horses. Abu Hurayrah said: 'Beware of the feet of camels and the hooves of sheep,' repeating it to him until the 'Amiri's complexion changed or turned pale. He said: 'What is that, O Abu Hurayrah?' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever has camels and does not give their right in their times of hardship and ease.' We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what are their times of hardship and ease?' He said: 'In their difficulty and their ease. They will come on the Day of Resurrection as large, big, fat, and lively as they ever were. Then a wide, flat plain will be spread out for them, and they will trample him with their feet. When the last of them has passed over him, the first will be returned to him, on a day whose length is fifty thousand years, until judgment is passed among the people, and he will see his fate.' And if he has cattle and does not give their right in their hardship and ease, they will come on the Day of Resurrection as large, big, fat, and lively as they ever were. Then a wide, flat plain will be spread out for them, and every cloven-hoofed animal will trample him with its hoof, and every horned animal will gore him with its horn. When the last of them has passed over him, the first will be returned to him, on a day whose length is fifty thousand years, until judgment is passed among the people, and he will see his fate.' And if he has sheep and does not give their right in their hardship and ease, they will come on the Day of Resurrection as large, big, fat, and lively as they ever were. Then a wide, flat plain will be spread out for them, and every cloven-hoofed animal will trample him with its hoof, and every horned animal will gore him with its horn—meaning none of them will have a broken horn or a hornless one. When the last of them has passed over him, the first will be returned to him, on a day whose length is fifty thousand years, until judgment is passed among the people, and he will see his fate.' The 'Amiri said: 'What is the right of the camels, O Abu Hurayrah?' He said: 'That you give the noble one, grant the abundant milk one, lend the riding male, give the milk to drink, and lend the stallion for breeding.'
