حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

مَنْ تَرَكَ كَنْزًا فَإِنَّهُ يُمَثَّلُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ يَتْبَعُهُ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ، فَمَا زَالَ يَطْلُبُهُ يَقُولُ: وَيْلَكَ مَا أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ: يَقُولُ: أَنَا كَنْزُكَ الَّذِي تَرَكْتَ بَعْدَكَ. قَالَ: فَيُلْقِمُهُ يَدَهُ فَيَقْضَمَهَا ثُمَّ يَتْبَعُهُ سَائِرَ جَسَدِهِ.

Translation

✧ Whoever leaves behind a treasure, it will be made into a bald-headed serpent on the Day of Resurrection, pursuing him with two venomous fangs. It will keep pursuing him, saying: 'Woe to you, what are you?' He will say: 'I am your treasure that you left behind after you.' He said: Then it will make him swallow his hand and devour it, then it will pursue the rest of his body.
