Wishing mercy on the sneezer

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَرْبَعٌ لِلْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ يَعُودُهُ إِذَا مَرِضَ وَيَشْهَدُهُ إِذَا مَاتَ وَيُجِيبُهُ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيُشَمِّتُهُ إِذَا عَطَسَ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "There are four things that one Muslim owes another Muslim:

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'Four things are due from a Muslim to a Muslim: he visits him when he is sick, he attends (his funeral) when he dies, he answers him when he calls him, and he says yarḥamuka Allāh (may Allah have mercy on you) when he sneezes.'
