حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي زُمَيْلٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ يَرْفَعْهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ
قَالَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لاَ أَعْلَمُهُ إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ إِفْرَاغُكَ مِنْ دَلْوِكَ فِي دَلْوِ أَخِيكَ صَدَقَةٌ وَأَمْرُكَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهْيُكَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ صَدَقَةٌ وَتَبَسُّمُكَ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيكَ صَدَقَةٌ وَإِمَاطَتُكَ الْحَجَرَ وَالشَّوْكَ وَالْعَظْمَ عَنْ طَرِيقِ النَّاسِ لَكَ صَدَقَةٌ وَهِدَايَتُكَ الرَّجُلَ فِي أَرْضِ الضَّالَّةِ صَدَقَةٌ
Translation
✧ He said after that—and I do not know but that he attributed it to the Prophet ﷺ—he said: "Your emptying your bucket into your brother's bucket is charity. Your commanding good and forbidding evil are charity. Your smiling in your brother's face is charity. Your removing stones, thorns, and bones from people's path is charity for you. Your guiding a man in a land where people go astray is charity."
