حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَقِيلُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ تَسَمَّوْا بِأَسْمَاءِ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَأَحَبُّ الأسْمَاءِ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَأَصْدَقُهَا حَارِثٌ وَهَمَّامٌ وَأَقْبَحُهَا حَرْبٌ وَمُرَّةُ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ said, "Name yourselves with the names of the prophets. The most beloved of names to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, are ʿAbdullah and ʿAbd al-Rahman. The most truthful are Harith and Hammam. The ugliest are Harb and Murrah."
