Translation

✧ From Abū Dharr, he said: "The Prophet ﷺ went toward al-Baqīʿ and I followed him. He turned and saw me and said: 'O Abū Dharr.' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and at your pleasure; may I be your ransom!' He said: 'Those who have much wealth are the ones with little on the Day of Resurrection, except for one who says: like this and like this in what is true.' I said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'Like this,' three times. Then Uḥud appeared before us and he said: 'O Abū Dharr.' I said: 'At your service, O Messenger of Allah, and at your pleasure; may I be your ransom!' He said: 'It would not please me that Uḥud be turned into gold for the family of Muḥammad, so that a dinar—or he said a mithqāl—would remain with them by evening.' Then a valley appeared before us, and he went ahead. I thought he had a need, so I sat on the edge, and he was slow in returning. I feared for him. Then I heard him as if he were conversing with a man, and then he came out to me alone. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who was the man you were conversing with?' He said: 'Did you hear him?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'That was Jibrīl. He came to me and gave me glad tidings that whoever of my community dies without associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise.' I said: 'Even if he commits adultery and even if he steals?' He said: 'Yes.'"
