machine translationMuḥammad b. al-Muthannā narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Wahhāb narrated to us, he said: Hishām narrated to us, from Muḥammad, from Abū Hurayrah
✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he was handsome. He said, “I love beauty, and I have been given what you see, so much so that I would not like anyone to surpass me—either he said: even by a sandal strap, or he said: by a red shoelace. Is that pride?” He said, “No. Pride is rejecting the truth and looking down on people.”
