حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رَوَاحَةَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَيْهَمَ عَنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الطَّائِيِّ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ قَالَ إِنَّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ مَصَالِيًا وَفُخُوخًا وَإِنَّ مَصَالِيَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَفُخُوخَهُ الْبَطَرُ بِأَنْعُمِ اللهِ وَالْفَخْرُ بِعَطَاءِ اللهِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءُ عَلَى عِبَادِ اللهِ وَاتِّبَاعُ الْهَوَى فِي غَيْرِ ذَاتِ اللهِ
Translation

machine translationʿAlī b. Ḥujr narrated to us, he said: Ismāʿīl narrated to us, he said: Abū Rawāḥah Yazīd b. Ayham narrated to me, from al-Haytham b. Mālik al-Ṭāʾī, he said:
✧ I heard al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr saying from the pulpit: “Satan has snares and traps. Satan’s snares and traps are: insolence at Allah’s blessings, boasting about Allah’s gifts, pride over Allah’s servants, and following whims in anything other than what pleases Allah.”
