حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَظُنُّهُ رَفَعَهُ شَكَّ لَيْثٌ قَالَ فِي ابْنِ آدَمَ سِتُّونَ وَثَلاَثُمِئَةِ سُلاَمَى أَوْ عَظْمٍ أَوْ مَفْصِلٍ عَلَى كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ صَدَقَةٌ كُلُّ كَلِمَةٍ طَيْبَةٍ صَدَقَةٌ وَعَوْنُ الرَّجُلِ أَخَاهُ صَدَقَةٌ وَالشَّرْبَةُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ يَسْقِيهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَإِمَاطَةُ الأَذَى

Translation

machine translationMusaddad narrated to us, he said: ʿAbd al-Wāḥid narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, from Ṭāwūs, from Ibn ʿAbbās – I think he attributed it to the Prophet (Layth was unsure) – he said: In the son of Adam there are three hundred and sixty joints (sulāmā), or bones, or articulations; on each one of them there is a charity every day. Every good word is a charity, a man's helping his brother is a charity, a drink of water that he gives to drink is a charity, and removing harm [is a charity].
✧ Removing from the road is charity.
