Mercy towards the family

حَدَّثَنَا حَرَمِيُّ بْنُ حَفْصٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَرْحَمَ النَّاسِ بِالْعِيَالِ وَكَانَ لَهُ ابْنٌ مُسْتَرْضَعٌ فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَ ظِئْرُهُ قَيْنًا وَكُنَّا نَأْتِيهِ وَقَدْ دَخَنَ الْبَيْتُ بِإِذْخِرٍ فَيُقَبِّلُهُ وَيَشُمُّهُ

Translation

✧ Anas b. Malik said, 'The Prophet ﷺ was the most merciful of people towards his family. He had a son who was being suckled in a part of Madinah, and his wet nurse was a blacksmith. We would go to him, and the house would be filled with smoke from idhkhir grass. He would kiss him and smell him.'
