A person should not revile his parents

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَخْلَدٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ عِيَاضٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ يَقُولُ

مِنَ الْكَبَائِرِ عِنْدَ اللهِ تَعَالَى أَنْ يَسْتَسِبَّ الرَّجُلُ لِوَالِدِهِ

Translation

  1. Muhammad b. Salam > Makhlad > Ibn Jurayj > Muhammad b. al-Harith b. Sufyan > ʿUrwah b. ʿIyad > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr b. al-ʿAs

'Abdullah ibn 'Amr said, "A man causing his parent to be reviled is one of the major sins in the sight of Allah Almighty."
