حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْعَقَدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ، عَلَى مِنْبَرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، يَقُولُ، فَبَكَى أَبُو بَكْرٍ حِينَ ذَكَرَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، ثُمَّ سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، يَقُولُ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الْقَيْظِ عَامَ الْأَوَّلِ: سَلُوا اللهَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ وَالْيَقِينَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَى.

✧ I heard Abu Bakr al-Siddiq on the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, and Abu Bakr wept when he mentioned the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he recovered, then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying in heat like this last year: Ask Allah for pardon, well-being, and certainty in the Hereafter and in this world.
