✧ Umar said to Sa'd: 'They have complained about you in everything, even in prayer.' He said: 'As for me, I prolong the first two (rak'ahs) and shorten the last two, and I do not fall short of following the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said: 'That is what is expected of you,' or: 'Such is my expectation of you.'
