Show the chain

✧ The prayer is two by two, and you testify facing the qiblah in every two rak'ahs, and you humble yourself, show submissiveness, and be calm. Then you raise your hands, saying: You raise them to your Lord, facing their palms toward your face, and you say: O Lord, O Lord. Whoever does not do that, it is deficient.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationA confused (muḍṭarib), weak (ḍaʿīf) chain; the like of it is not to be used as evidence.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThere is a disagreement in its chain.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationWhat al-Layth says is more authentic, because ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith and Ibn Lahīʿah corroborated al-Layth. ʿAmr and al-Layth used to write, whereas Shuʿbah was a man of memory. I said to my father: Is this chain sound (ṣaḥīḥ) in your view? He said: Good (ḥasan).

  • al-Bukhari

machine translationThe hadith of al-Layth is more authentic than the hadith of Shuʿbah.

  • Sulaymān b. Aḥmad al-Ṭabarānī

machine translationAl-Layth b. Saʿd preserved the chain of this hadith accurately, and Shuʿbah erred in it.

  • al-Bukhari

machine translationAnd the hadith of al-Layth is more authentic than the hadith of Shuʿbah.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThe hadith of al-Layth is more authentic, because Anas b. Abī Anas is not known, and ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith has no meaning here; it is only Rabīʿah b. al-Ḥārith.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationAnd the correct statement is that of al-Layth b. Saʿd.
