حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، وَالْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ الْغُمَيْصَاءَ، أَوِ الرُّمَيْصَاءَ، جَاءَتْ تَشْكُو زَوْجَهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ: إِنَّهُ لَا يَصِلُ إِلَيْهَا، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: كَذَبَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي لَأَفْعَلُ، وَلَكِنَّهَا تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَى زَوْجِهَا الْأَوَّلِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: لَا تَحِلُّ لَهُ حَتَّى تَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَهَا

Translation

✧ Al-Ghumaysa' or al-Rumaysa' came complaining about her husband to the Messenger of God ﷺ. She said, 'He cannot reach her.' He said, 'She has lied, O Messenger of God; I do it, but she wants to return to her first husband.' The Messenger of God ﷺ said, 'She is not lawful for him until she tastes his sweetness.'
