حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ
أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَلَمَّا نَزَلُوا وَوُضِعَتِ السُّفْرَةُ، بَعَثُوا إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَلَمَّا كَادُوا أَنْ يَفْرُغُوا، جَاءَ فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ، فَنَظَرَ الْقَوْمُ إِلَى رَسُولِهِمْ، فَقَالَ: مَا تَنْظُرُونَ ؟ قَدْ وَاللهِ
Translation

✧ Abu Hurayra was on a journey. When they stopped and the eating mat was laid out, they sent for him while he was praying. He said: I am fasting. When they were about to finish, he came and began to eat. The people looked at their messenger, so he said: What are you looking at? By God, indeed.
