حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُبَشِّرٌ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ الزُّرَقِيُّ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:
أَخَذَتِ النَّاسَ رِيحٌ بِطَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ، وَعُمَرُ حَاجٌّ، فَاشْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَقَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ: مَا الرِّيحُ ؟ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ شَيْئًا، فَبَلَغَنِي الَّذِي سَأَلَ عَنْهُ عُمَرُ، فَاسْتَحْثَثْتُ رَاحِلَتِي حَتَّى أَدْرَكْتُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

✧ A wind overtook the people on the road to Makkah while Umar was performing Hajj, and it became severe upon them. He said to those around him: "What is the wind?" But nothing came back to him. Then the news of what Umar asked about reached me, so I urged my riding camel until I caught up with him and said: "O Commander of the Believers,"
