حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، حَدَّثَنَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

أَلَا كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ، وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ، أَلَا فَالْأَمِيرُ الَّذِي عَلَى النَّاسِ رَاعٍ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَمَسْئُولٌ عَنْهُمْ، وَالرَّجُلُ رَاعٍ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ، وَمَسْئُولٌ عَنْهُمْ، وَامْرَأَةُ الرَّجُلِ رَاعِيَةٌ عَلَى بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا وَوَلَدِهِ، وَمَسْئُولَةٌ عَنْهُمْ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّجُلِ رَاعٍ عَلَى مَالِ سَيِّدِهِ، وَمَسْئُولٌ عَنْهُ، أَلَا فَكُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ

Translation

✧ Indeed all of you are shepherds, and all of you are responsible for your flocks. Indeed the ruler who is over the people is a shepherd over them and is responsible for them. A man is a shepherd over his household and is responsible for them. A man's wife is a shepherd over her husband's house and his children and is responsible for them. A man's slave is a shepherd over his master's property and is responsible for it. Indeed all of you are shepherds, and all of you are responsible for your flocks.
