✧ I struck a man from the nobles of Persia on the day of Mihran. He said: I took his spoils to the ruler. He said: I took a gold ring of his. He said: It had been seen on my hand. He said: I said, "If I go out to the land of the Persians and something befalls me, it will be useful as a means of support." Then I entered upon Abdullah while it was on my hand. He said, "What is this ring?" So I told him the story. He took it from me, put it in his mouth, chewed it, then threw it to me and said, "The Prophet ﷺ forbade gold rings."
