✧ We were sitting waiting for Ibn Mas'ud to come out to us when Yazid b. Mu'awiya came to us. We said, 'Sit down.' He said, 'Not until I go in to your companion; if he comes out, then fine, otherwise I will return to you.' He said, 'He went in to him, and they both came out.' Ibn Mas'ud said, 'I am informed of your gathering—or of your place—and nothing prevents me from coming out to you except dislike of boring you. The Prophet ﷺ used to space out his admonitions to us over the days, fearing tedium for us.'
