حَدَّثَنَاهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الرُّومِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ إِذَا كُنْتِ عَنِّي رَاضِيَةً، وَإِذَا كُنْتِ عَلَيَّ غَضْبَى، قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: مِنْ أَيْنَ تَعْرِفُ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: إِذَا كُنْتِ عَنِّي رَاضِيَةً، قُلْتِ: لَا، وَرَبِّ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَإِذَا كُنْتِ عَلَيَّ غَضْبَى، قُلْتِ: لَا، وَرَبِّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قُلْتُ: أَجَلْ، وَاللهِ مَا أَهْجُرُ إِلَّا اسْمَكَ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said to me: I know when you are pleased with me and when you are angry with me. She said: I said: From where do you know that? He said: When you are pleased with me, you say: No, by the Lord of Muhammad; and when you are angry with me, you say: No, by the Lord of Ibrahim. I said: Yes, by God, I only abandon your name.
