حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:

قَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ إِذَا كُنْتِ عَلَيَّ غَضْبَى، وَإِذَا كُنْتِ عَنِّي رَاضِيَةً، إِذَا كُنْتِ عَلَيَّ غَضْبَى، قُلْتِ: لَا، وَرَبِّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَإِذَا كُنْتِ عَنِّي رَاضِيَةً، قُلْتِ: لَا، وَرَبِّ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَتْ: أَجَلْ، وَاللهِ، مَا أَهْجُرُ إِلَّا اسْمَكَ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said to me: I know when you are angry with me and when you are pleased with me. When you are angry with me, you say: No, by the Lord of Ibrahim; and when you are pleased with me, you say: No, by the Lord of Muhammad. She said: Yes, by God, I only abandon your name.
