✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, “Who is the most wretched of the former peoples?” I said, “The one who hamstrung the she-camel.” He said, “You have spoken the truth. So who is the most wretched of the latter peoples?” I said, “I have no knowledge, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “The one who strikes you on this,” and he gestured with his hand to the top of his head. He used to say, “I wish that the most wretched of you would rise up and dye this from this,” meaning his beard from the blood of his head.
