حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فِي وَجَعِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ، فَقَامُوا، فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَجَلَسُوا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ، فَإِذَا رَكَعَ، فَارْكَعُوا، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ، فَاسْجُدُوا، وَإِذَا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا، فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ led the people in prayer during his illness while seated. They stood, so he gestured to them, and they sat. Then he said: The imam is only to be followed. When he bows, bow; when he prostrates, prostrate; and when he prays seated, pray seated.
