حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ لَيْثًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبَ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا، قَالَ لِعَائِشَةَ: إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا يُحَدِّثُ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ، لَوْ تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ ذَهَبَتْ آخِرَتُهُ، وَلَوْ ظَهَرَ عَلَيْهِ لَقُتِلَ قَالَ: فَكَبَّرَتْ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ قَالَتْ: سُئِلَ عَنْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّمَا يُخْتَبَرُ بِهَذَا الْمُؤْمِنُ
Translation

✧ A man said to 'A'ishah: "One of us speaks to himself about something, which if he uttered it his hereafter would be destroyed, and if it appeared upon him he would be killed." He said: She said takbir three times, then said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about it and he said takbir three times, then said: 'Indeed the believer is tested by this.'"
